before jim arrived, we talked with pat over the speaker phone. mary: "she sounds just like pat." pat inquired about the snowfall here. we've had six inches here in town and more is coming down. 'bout time.

larry didn't make it down to craig monday due to the weather. a 40-50 car/truck mishap shut down i-70 about 1 p.m., near the buffalo herd overlook. two died and about 30 taken to area hospitals. smartly, larry chose to stay in the mountains. it was still snowing in denver at bronco gametime. great advertising for those of us in and dependent on the skiing industry. just before thanksgiving.

larry has been filling us in on pat's routines and progress. they are looking forward to thanksgiving at debra's house in arvada.

pat's known to rip that velcro seat restraint strap (now a lock belt) and want to get up and go some place.

larry is requesting a computer from the rehab hospital's staff and wants to see what pat does with it. he's confident another forward step will be realized. pat does well on the phone, and the computer will likely trigger more familiar responses.

they are planning on being home for christmas following a dec., 23 discharge. while here we talked about lining up 24-hour med/tech help. needed: ot, pt, sp, rec therapy. talks with bristlecone are under way, and suggestions and applications are welcome.

"we are making plans to bring her home," larry said confidently.

he and pt jean are encouraging aunt pat to start working on walking stairs in anticipation of returning to their large multi-level home in lakeview meadows on "larry's pro leisure golf course next door to the kingdom."

"she's progressing text-book style," larry relayed from the doctors, although adding all cases are different.

observation: larry's doing well, really, considering.

the outpouring of support has been tremendous. thanks to all.
