UPDATE FOR SATURDAY 11/6 FROM MARK

I

Dear all friends and family of Pat and Larry, I'm sitting here at my sister Deb's house in Denver after a great all around day. This is mark <Pat's cousin from Kauai> at the keyboard. It took a 1/2 hour just to get that out. Must be the lack of oxygen here. Anyway I finally got to visit Pat and Larry today. It was so GOOD to see 'em both. When we arrived Pat was engrossed in the movie Cocoon. As soon as she saw us she gave us a big smile. This was in front of the nurses station. She looked very good and we were able to just sit around, look at pictures, and talk about all kinds of stuff. She had a smile on her face that would make you melt. It did me. Larry showed up after a while and we all went outside for some sunshine. The weather was perfect . It just doesn't get any better than it was today. I brought a nice lei which Pat was wearing while eating lunch and cruising around. A month and a half ago I sent an email that said I would see Pat in Denver on November 5 and we will have a talk. Well we did! Except it was the 6th. Not bad for Hawaiian time. Tomorrow we'll see 'em again for a BBQ. Shrimp and fish. Should be good. Thank you to everyone out there who has helped my cousins. They both have incredibly good friends. and family too. Mahalo and Aloha, Mark

Debra here. Pat's problem solving skills impressed me today. I asked her who gave her the yellow daisy plant. She knew who and she tried to tell me, but the names just didn't come to her lips. Smiling she wheeled over to the table holding her guest book and pointed to the open page with a note from her friends who brought the plant. Good work Pat! LOVE TO ALL - Debra

Hello, PLSers! Kay here.

"I had fun." That was Pat's answer when I asked how her craft class was last night. Three words at a time - we'll take it. At the end of the conversation she said, "OK, bye-bye." The rest in between was what Larry appropriately called word salad. I think she said that working on getting up and down steps was the worst, but I'm not sure.
