This is Laura Hofer again I would go through my Whole relation to Pat and Larry again, but I somehow got promoted to a "cousin". It actually helps the Dr.'s and nurses from a lot of confusion, and with the number of cousins that Pat has.....well I figure no one will mind.

Now,on to bigger things, Aunt Pat's 1st Day!

She was slow moving this morning,in her chart it said that she had not slept very well in the night. This has been the case the last few days, so Dr. Chang gave her some sleeping medication, but she still stayed up. This just proves what we all Know....Pat loves to Party.

Jean the P.T. came in about 9:30 and we got her all set in her custom wheelchair!! Larry made a joke about her wheeling away by herself, and we got a BIG SILE!! First we went to speech therapy with Jennifer for a half an hour. She asked Pat to take the ball out of her hand, and with a little contemplation, she did it!!! After Speech we went to Occupational therapy with Sue, she took lots of measurements, and made Pat stretch out a little more than she was willing. We Knew this by the sour faces made.

Pat is now back in her room and sitting in her chair. This chair is a little different than the other ones that Pat has had, it is low to the ground so her feet can touch the ground and she can push herself around.

Pat's brother Dan is scheduled to come in tonight, and will be able to spend the day with Pat and I. This is also good news because Dan has a digital camera, and can update you with some new pictures!!!

Larry (and I ) would like to thank thier friend Peter Ryan...A.K.A Scooter for the wonderful Beethoven CD that he sent over! Also, I made a mistake on the phone number on yesterdays update. You can not dial directly to the room, you have to go through the nurses station first. The number is (303)789-8254 and she is currently in room 205A. That is all for today, we will give you more news tomorrow.
