Kay's comment to me when I arrived yesterday was, "The lights are on, there's somebody home, but no one is answering the door." Well, now it looks like shes peeking out the curtains.
That reminds me of one of my favorite Pat stories. When she was in high school and an exchange student in Austria, she was home alone in her Austrian family's house and the phone started ringing. For those of you who have been in a foreign country and had to answer in a foreign language, you know that's a scary thing to have to do. Well she let it ring and ring, but the caller was persistant, so she finally went over, picked up the phone and said quickly in German, "nobody's home," and hung up.

I try to be perfect, and I get close to it from time to time, but I make
mistakes.
The first one was that Larry really didn't want me to send out his cellular
phone number to the world. I misunderstood why he had given me the number.
The second mistake was that I wrote down the wrong number anyway, so you
won't get very far if you try it. Things have a way of working out.
Finally, I exaggerated a bit about the move of the bed to a different room.
A good friend once told me about 30 years ago that, "The past is something to
manipulate in order to tell good stories." I have always remembered that and
have taken it to heart. So the truth of the matter is that Steve did not
have to carry the jar of dirty looking material. The nurse Tilly the Hun had
actually just plunked it down on the bed with a bunch of other tubes and then
wrapped Pat's arm around it to keep it from tipping over.
