Rodeo's Pictures

Brigitte is talking to Pat's Mom, Ardelle.
Pat Lived at Brigitte's home when she was an exchange student in Austria, they have been like sisters since that time.
Bill Rodes, old ski patrol buddy, roommate and long time playmate to Pat & Larry visits from Washington State and brings along his laptop and camera.
Hello everyone, and all ships at sea.....

Rodeo here, reclined on the couch at Fred and Sara Jones home, laptop on top of a blanket on top of me. Brigitte has retired, Betsy flew home earlier this evening, and I just saw Larry off to return to Kim's after a slam dunk
Chinese dinner. Time to reflect on another non-stop day.

First off a BIG thank you, love and appreciation to Betsy. She is a one person whirlwind, keeping us all informed, updated, nurses in sync, attendants educated, doctors and staff tuned in to what been going on, and needs to happen in Room 10, Pat's room. Betsy's experience, knowledge, and endless devotion to Pat's recovery is an inspiration.
Betsy,, you left your Revo's in the car and Brigitte will deliver on her trip to Summit Co.

Also want to thank in advance Fred and Sara for allowing us to share their home for a short while and making our stay here to help Pat a comfortable one.

While Brigitte and I were picking up the sweet and sour shrimp, Larry caught up on some phone calls to family. Upon returning we logged on, checked the website, read emails from you, and planned the day tomorrow. One thing we realized here..... Larry has been so busy with all you can imagine that he has not had a chance reply to many of the emails sent to him, me, or the auntpat.net site. He was very pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed to see the depth of response from Pat's and his many friends, family, and supporters. When I showed him the list of people who have written letters posted on the website he was blown away...had no idea the group had gotten so large. He felt bad that he has not answered each one back personally. I assured him that we all understand and I mentioned that he could respond to all at once with one letter to the group to start if he like... so you might have a note by the weekend.

PAT, PAT, PAT,,,,, you smiled so big today at a few of the sweetest things... Taking pictures of Betsy with my help and then looking at the results. We missed her completely the first try and had to do it again. Talking about your favorite quilt when we checked out a picture of your bedroom.
And when I kissed your hands after working with you to stretch and relax them, and I asked you if that made your heart go Pitter Pat,,,, that did me in. Not sure if the tear on your check was a result or if it was just time to water down the eyes.....
And when you instantly close your eyes and relax when I stroke your fuzzy head and tell you we love you so much.

Pat was off the assisted breather all day today and was hooked back up for a nights rest. She was very active today starting with the "stand up with Velcro bench" drill, and then a two hour sit in a upright chair-like device, while we stretched her around some. (Please forgive my not knowing all the technical names of all the equipment)
She really likes to move her legs in all sorts of positions. Pushing against the foot rest, and then against my thighs as I pushed and released the pressure to work her legs some. Pat will eventually react to asking her to
move her legs this way and that when trying to reposition her to a more comfortable position, and I have seen her trying to what seems like looking at her feet as though to see if what she is trying to do is really happening.
She crosses her leg at the ankle and knee and we mentioned that it was a very lady like pose she had there.

After some consultation by the gastro-insides team, it was decided not to take her off the intravenous food just yet. Seems they wanted to study her past reaction record to stomach feeding and make sure they are interpreting
them correctly and consider it again tomorrow.. so another very large bag of white, creamy, high power super food was brought in for the gravity feed to pats arm.

The drainage from her lung cavity is slowing some and is steady in color and viscosity. Antibiotics continue.. I'll try and get some more detail on this front as it is one of the primary factors it seems for when Pat might
be ready for a move to Denver.
Brigitte had the bird chipping CD and then some classical music on the boom box and told her of her moms call this AM. That got her attention immediately. Later we picked up some hand lotion and a nail file to tune up Pat's hands
tomorrow.
We'll see you all tomorrow,,, and thanks for the notes, and words of
encouragement.

love you all,,,

Bill
